If it wasn’t bad enough that the President and the AG Eric Holder have began their crusade to turn victims who defend themselves into felons, now John McCain, the former GOP Presidential candidate, has joined ranks with them in calling for a “review” (aka revocation) of “Stand Your Ground” laws nationwide.
This announcement comes in the wake of the Zimmerman verdict where the neighborhood watch volunteer legally defended his life from an assault perpetrated by Trayvon Martin. Apparently these left leaning politicians aren’t content with the verdict and now want to make it illegal for all Americans to defend themselves from such violent attacks. Couple that with their regularly scheduled gun grabs and it seems we’re in for another bumpy ride.
Like the President, McCain claims to “respect” the jury’s verdict but thinks a nationwide review of the “Stand Your Ground” laws is in order. The question is, why? Zimmerman didn’t use Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law in his defense at trial. It seems to me their claims of respecting the jury’s verdict are nothing short of lies. They don’t respect the verdict, they want to punish Zimmerman and anyone else who might use a weapon to defend their life.
Just in case you missed it, Zimmerman didn’t use Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law as part of his defense.
I’ve been chastised by a few readers for defending the jury’s verdict and believing that Zimmerman had the right to use deadly force to save his own life. Many of these detractors cite the fact Martin was only 17, or that he was unarmed and only had Skittles and some ice tea. They want you to believe that Martin was the victim and that Zimmerman was the aggressor. As with all stories, there is more to it than what the main stream media has reported. There is information in the following video you may be unaware of, or perhaps choose to ignore. However, if you’re interested in the rest of the story you may not have been told, I recommend you watch this.

I’m not going to say the above video is definitive proof of Zimmermans innocence, or that it’s even 100% accurate. I’m only presenting it as evidence there is far more to the story than has been reported by the main stream media. They’re doing it on purpose and for malicious reasons.
I don’t think Zimmerman is a “hero”, as I’ve been accused of saying. I don’t think this case is some shining example of why we should be able to carry concealed weapons. It’s an unfortunate and painful tragedy that I hope is never repeated. However, I do believe Zimmerman did nothing wrong and legally defended his life.
We shouldn’t allow this case to be used to crucify gun owners or people who carry firearms for self defense. The gun grabbing politicians have every intention of using this tragedy for political gain and exploiting the emotions of people on both sides of the debate. Their ultimate goal is disarmament and subjugation. They are using this case to turn gun owners and advocates of self defense against each other, and it seems to be working.
I’m sorry if you don’t agree with the jury’s verdict in the Zimmerman case. I’m also sorry if my support of that verdict angers you. We need to get past this disagreement and get our eyes back on the ball. We can’t let these politicians accomplish their goal of dividing and conquering gun owners and advocates of self defense. If we do, we all lose.
